My Fave Style Boards Wk46/2014

This time we’re looking at more controversial stuff, something bordering on outrageous but still elegant and acceptable. It’s good to be different and if that’s your intention, these style boards will help you pick up some inspiration. So, let’s crack on with it!

Comics Lovers

Dominatrix Dress by Society of Chic

Dominatrix by Society of Chic

If you’ve been invited to a place where people won’t accept your love for comic-con you can either follow through with your objective or play it down by wearing something that resembles a super-heroine outfit but is also perfectly acceptable.

This style board was put together by Societyofchic.com and if you’re wondering what’s the amazing dress featured on this board, it’s the Dominatrix two-piece from their bodycon dress range. In combination with the golden handbag and “normal” stilettos, it’s less evocative but you’re guaranteed to leave a lasting impression wherever you go.

Beige Furs

Faux Fur

Faux Fur

There are two reasons why I love this fashion board by @dresslifeup. It’s beige (a very elegant colour) and it’s got the upside-down-triangle silhouette – wide shoulders and narrow bottom. Love it!

Now, you may consider this rather controversial but, mind you, this is faux fur, hence it’s perfectly acceptable. I know some will say it’s wrong to encourage people to wear furs blah blah blah, but tbh, I don’t care as long as it’s faux. The black onyx/hematite jewellery adds a welcome accent to the otherwise beigey set.

Joan Collins would Love it

Dynasty Style Animal Print

Dynasty Style

This style board by @style_doctor is a bit of a homage to the 1980s. At least that’s the vibe I’m getting. I thought “Dynasty” the moment I saw it and I can sooo imagine Joan Collins wearing this… no, flaunting this! Firstly, you can’t go wrong with animal print. Can you picture it ever going out of fashion?

When you’re wearing a jacket like this, you must wear a black pencil skirt. Well, not necessarily “must” but then again, what else would you wear with it? This one’s rather unusual – there are some bold textures going on but the amazing quilted Chanel handbag actually helps to balance the texture. Great choice!
